A quick and playful Halloween dessert featuring creamy chocolate pudding layered with crushed Oreos that mimic dirt and topped with gummy worms for a fun, spooky treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix (about 3.9 oz / 110 g)
  • 2 cups cold milk (480 ml)
  • About 20 Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 1 package gummy worms (about 3.5 oz / 100 g)
  • Optional: 1 cup whipped cream (240 ml)
  • Optional: 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (40 g)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until thickened. Let it set for 5 minutes.
  2. Place about 20 Oreo cookies into a large zip-top bag and crush into fine crumbs with some small chunks. Set aside about 3/4 of the crumbs for layering, keeping the rest for topping.
  3. If using, gently fold about 1 cup of whipped cream into the pudding to lighten the texture.
  4. Start with a spoonful of crushed Oreos (about 2 tablespoons) at the bottom of each serving cup. Add a generous layer of pudding (about 1/4 cup). Repeat the layers once more, finishing with a sprinkle of Oreo crumbs on top.
  5. Place 2-3 gummy worms on top of each cup, letting them peek out as if crawling through the dirt.
  6. Refrigerate the assembled cups for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  7. Serve chilled, straight from the cup.

Notes

Use high-quality instant chocolate pudding mix for best texture. Crush Oreos to mostly fine crumbs with some chunks for texture. Chill pudding cups at least 30 minutes before serving. Add fresh Oreo crumbs before serving if soggy. Dairy-free and gluten-free substitutions are possible.
