A simple and refreshing frozen watermelon margarita slushie made with just frozen watermelon, tequila blanco, and fresh lime juice. Perfect for quick summer gatherings and easy to make in under 5 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (450g) frozen watermelon chunks
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) tequila blanco
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) fresh lime juice
  • Optional: pinch of salt for rimming glasses
  • Optional: teaspoon of agave syrup for sweetness

Instructions

  1. Measure out 3 cups (450g) of frozen watermelon chunks. If using fresh watermelon, cut into chunks and freeze for at least 4 hours beforehand.
  2. Juice about 2-3 limes to get 1/4 cup (60ml) of fresh lime juice.
  3. Add the frozen watermelon chunks, 1/2 cup (120ml) tequila blanco, and 1/4 cup (60ml) fresh lime juice to your blender.
  4. Pulse the blender to start, then blend on high speed for about 30-45 seconds until smooth and slushy with no large chunks.
  5. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash of cold water or additional lime juice to loosen it up.
  6. Taste the slushie and add extra lime juice for more zing or a teaspoon of agave syrup for sweetness, then blend briefly again.
  7. Pour into glasses, optionally rimmed with salt, and garnish with a lime wedge or small watermelon slice.
  8. Serve immediately for best icy texture.

Notes

Freeze watermelon chunks solid before blending to avoid watery texture. Blend in short bursts to protect blender motor. Serve immediately for best icy texture. Optional salt rim enhances flavor contrast. Can substitute half tequila with sparkling water for lighter alcohol or omit tequila for a mocktail.
