Quick and fun Halloween snack made with hot dogs wrapped in crescent dough to look like mummies. Ready in under 30 minutes with just three ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 standard-sized hot dogs (beef, pork, turkey, or plant-based)
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • 1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water (optional, for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll crescent dough and pinch seams together to form a solid sheet.
  3. Cut dough lengthwise into thin strips about ¼-inch wide (10-12 strips per can).
  4. Wrap each hot dog with a strip of dough at a slight angle, leaving a ½-inch gap near the top for the face. Overlap slightly and press end to seal.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheet.
  6. Brush with egg wash if desired for a shiny finish.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until dough is golden brown and hot dogs are heated through.
  8. Let cool 2-3 minutes, then use a toothpick to dab small dots of mustard onto the exposed hot dog area for eyes.
  9. Serve warm.

Notes

Don’t wrap dough too tightly; leave room for expansion. Use room-temperature dough to prevent cracking. For a shiny finish, brush with egg wash. Mustard eyes are essential for the mummy look.
