These crispy garlic parmesan chicken wings are perfectly cooked in the air fryer, delivering a golden, crunchy exterior with a rich, buttery garlic-parmesan coating. Quick and easy, they make a perfect snack or meal for game day or casual dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds (900g) chicken wings, tips removed if preferred
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced or pressed
  • ½ cup (50g) freshly grated parmesan cheese (Parmigiano-Reggiano recommended)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat dry 2 pounds (900g) of chicken wings with paper towels to remove moisture.
  2. In a large bowl, toss wings with 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, salt, and freshly cracked black pepper until lightly coated.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through at around 12 minutes, until wings are golden and crisp. If cooking in batches, keep finished wings warm in a low oven.
  5. While wings cook, melt 3 tablespoons butter in a small bowl. Stir in 4 cloves minced garlic, ½ cup freshly grated parmesan, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  6. Once wings are cooked, immediately transfer to a large bowl. Pour the garlic-parmesan mixture over wings and toss gently but thoroughly to coat every piece.
  7. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley on top for color and fresh flavor. Serve hot for best crunch.

Notes

For extra crispiness, add 2-3 minutes of additional air frying at 400°F at the end, watching closely to avoid burning. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure proper airflow and crispiness. If dairy-free, substitute butter with coconut oil and parmesan with vegan cheese alternative. Wings can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer at 350°F for 5 minutes to restore crispiness.
