A creamy, spicy, and utterly addictive buffalo chicken dip with a festive spiderweb design made from sour cream. Perfect for game day, Halloween parties, or any gathering, this dip is quick to make and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced (rotisserie chicken recommended)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot Original)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream, plus 2-3 tablespoons for spiderweb design
  • 34 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Let cream cheese soften at room temperature or microwave for 15-20 seconds.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese with a hand mixer until smooth and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add buffalo wing sauce and ranch dressing to the cream cheese. Mix on low speed until combined.
  4. Fold in shredded chicken, 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese using a rubber spatula until evenly distributed.
  5. Stir in 1/4 cup sour cream until smooth.
  6. Transfer mixture to a 9-inch pie plate or baking dish and spread into an even layer.
  7. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until hot and bubbly around the edges and cheese is melted.
  9. While dip bakes, prepare spiderweb design: Mix 2-3 tablespoons sour cream until smooth. Transfer to a piping bag or small ziploc bag with a tiny corner snipped off.
  10. Let dip cool for 5 minutes after baking.
  11. Pipe a small circle of sour cream in the center of the dip, then larger concentric circles outward. Using a toothpick or knife tip, drag lines from center outward like spokes, then drag lines from outer circles inward to create web pattern.
  12. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

Let dip cool for 5 minutes before adding spiderweb design to prevent sour cream from melting. Use thick sour cream for best results. Can be assembled a day in advance (without spiderweb) and refrigerated; add 10 minutes to bake time. Double recipe for larger crowds using a 9×13 dish.
